2015 Scholarship Recipients
The Woman’s Club of Houston hosted guests from the University of Houston at our February 25, 2015 general assembly meeting at Masraff’s. As we celebrated 25 years of providing scholarships to Houston students, we were joined by Nancy Clark, Director of Legacy Programs at the UH Alumni Relations Department (UH–Main Campus), Dr. Kim Pinkerton, Urban Education liaison to TWCH (UH–Downtown), and Dr. Leigh Van Horn, Interim Dean for the College of Public Service (UH–Downtown). Current scholarship recipients at UH–Downtown, Ms. Lauren Thomas and Ms. Nina Aguirre, were present as well and expressed their deep appreciation for the scholarships in very poignant and memorable comments to the members. Ms. Lillian Romero, this year's scholarship recipient from UH-Main Campus, was unable to join us. Play their videos and download their full essays below.
